North Korea Tests Second Successful ICBM

The Democratic People’s Republic of North Korea (DPRK) has reportedly tested a second successful launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM). The missile, launched on July 28, 2017, arrived at a peak altitude of 3000 kilometers. While some information is still unconfirmed, state media has reported that the missile is the same Hwasong-14, which was tested on July 4, albeit with new technological developments. While the missile technology is still unpredictable and unreliable for the DPRK, its rapid developments in less than one month suggest a fully reliable ICBM could become reality sooner than initially expected.
