Jordan Joins G7’s Global Partnership

Jordan has officially become a member of the G7’s Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction. The announcement was made at the Italian Foreign Ministry during a meeting of the Global Partnership on November 16, 2017. All representatives of states participating in the meeting supported Jordan’s request for membership. The Global Partnership is a multilateral nonproliferation initiative created in 2002 that aims to fund and implement projects that prevent non-state actors from acquiring weapons of mass destruction. This mandate is promoted through the adoption of international cooperation, technical assistance programs, and adoption of national measures related to nonproliferation.
