Radiation Monitoring Systems Installed at Aqaba Airport

The Aqaba Airports Company and the Energy and Minerals Regulatory Commission (EMRC) recently installed radiation detection systems at the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba, Jordan. This step toward enhancing nuclear and radiological security in Jordan is envisioned to further the promotion of the Airport as a regional hub. The system was funded by the Government of Canada as part of the collaborative efforts between the Jordanian and Canadian governments on strengthening nuclear security and preventing the illicit trafficking of radioactive materials.
